Tomorrow will be our schools' first Science Fair. The science fair starts at 10:30 with the Grades 5-9 looking at the Grades 1-4 projects in their classrooms. Then after lunch, the Grades 1-4 will go look at the Grades 5-9 who will set up in the cafeteria. At 2:45 PM until 4:00 PM parents will be allowed to go around the school and look at all projects. It will be a bit of an odd day tomorrow in terms of classroom work but Ms. Wright is hoping to do an Art project and get in some D.P.A. as well.
HOMEWORK ELA: Reading Log "Amulet" Response Journal #1 (Due Friday) SS: Adventure Journal + Map (Friday) Math: pg 294, #1-6 In Math today, we learned many different ways to multiply large numbers. Our classmates showed us different strategies that they like to use and we learned some from our textbook as well. We used the practice to experiment with which method we like to use best.
We also finished up our adventure journals in Writing and Social Studies. After using the computers to check for spelling errors, we used our "old" paper we made on the weekend to write our good copies. HOMEWORK ELA: Reading Log (agenda) Math: pg 292, #1-7 SS: Adventure Journal and Map (due Friday)
In Music today, we learned a new song called "Four White Horses" and tried to perform a clapping rhythm to go with it. It was really challenging! In gym, we started learning a line dance called the electric slide. The students were even better than Ms. Wright expected. They caught onto the dance really quickly.
Today we also learned fun Math games with dice, grid paper and cards, silent read outside in the sun and worked on our Science Fair projects! For homework, students are expected to make a minimum of two "old" papers using one of the methods found here or something else you have found that works. HOMEWORK ELA: Reading Log (agenda) - Adventure Story revise and edit draft - Make "old" paper Mandarin: Worksheet REMINDER Bring "Amulet" by no later than Wednesday, April 29th. Thank you to Raven and Snowy Owl class for joining our Grade Four's in gym today! Also, thank you for taking some great photos. The Grade Four's worked hard for two weeks putting together a warm-up and a game to play with our buddies. We all had such a great time playing together. Lots of laughter and smiles were shared! Check out some of the photos below :)
HOMEWORK Reading Log (agenda) Adventure Story Draft Sci: Research PP/Slides Printed Out Today we had a lot of different activities to celebrate Earth Day. We started by watching Wall-E which shows us what it would be like it we don't start taking care of our earth. After recess, we went to a little park near the Han River. We were surrounded by beautiful nature the whole time! After lunch, we did an experiment about water pollution and oil spills. We finished the day by coming up with ideas of choices we can make that can help our earth.

Today we had gym with the Grade 3's and we played a fun game called "Beach, Bridge and Boats". In Social Studies, we were able to try our sailor biscuits which had been sitting out all weekend and were hard as a brick. Ms. Wright was very doubtful that students would enjoy them but everyone LIKED them! They described them as tasting like pizza crust with nothing on it. Thankfully, no teeth were broken in the process.
