Our reading buddies have a field trip tomorrow so we met with them today. We went to the library and checked out some new books while lounging around.
In Social Studies, we started a new project where we will be interviewing a special guest, either Samuel Hearne or Mantonabbee. One partner will be the explorer and the other will be the interviewer. We will be recording these on our phones to show the class. HOMEWORK ELA: Reading Log Spelling Test SS: read pg 159-162 Math: bring 5000 won (optional) Next week the Leadership ACA club will host a bake sale to help raise funds for the Nepal Earthquake victims. If your family can donate baked goods, please return the pledge form by tomorrow. Donations can be brought in on June 3rd. HOMEWORK Reading Log (agenda) Writing: Persuasive Paragraphs Sci: Chapter 8 Quiz/Review -adaptations -habitat -organisms Today in Social Studies, we spent some time reviewing what we remembered from our time studying the Arctic and Subarctic. HOMEWORK ELA: Reading Log SS: Champlain and Cartier Venn Diagram Today student's were introduced to small science project where they will make "Organism Cards". Much like baseball or other trading cards, these cards will have a picture (of a British Columbia animal) and information about the subject (habitat, structural and behavioural adaptations). Some of the animals we will be studying include: orca, wolf, raccoon, snowy owl, wolverine, black widow spider, falcon and white tail deer.

We had a really fun time at sports day this year! The weather was perfect, not too hot and not too cold. Thank you to all the students who brought small gifts for teachers day as well :) Ms. Wright almost cried because of the thought you put into your gifts.
