Thank you to all the parents and students that came to the student led conferences yesterday and today. I had such a good time talking with you about how your child is doing in class. As I told many parents, the best thing I can hear is that your child is happy when they are at school. Learning and happiness should go together, not be separate. I am so grateful for all your kinds words and support. Teaching is a crazy profession but you make it all worth the hard work and long nights. I am blessed to have such caring, talented and thoughtful children in my class.
Enjoy your long weekend and relax! Love, Ms. Wright

HOMEWORK: ELA: Reading Blog (choice) Math: Friday (Thursday) Math Review In Social Studies today, we began out unit on Explorers. We started by brainstorming what we know about exploring. We had some fun with the next activity as we guessed "Why did European explorers come to North America?". In the next couple months, we will continue to learn about how, why, where, when and why explorers came to Canada. 새해 복 많이 받으세요! -Ms. Wright HOMEWORK ELA: Reading Blog (choice) Writing: Fantasy Story Final Copy (blog) REMINDER Check your emails Sunday, February 22nd for a notice about Student Conferences. Today students practiced their editing skills by "tagging" their peers work. Ms. Wright played music and when it stopped students had to find a desk to sit in. Then, students had to "TAG" the persons work:
T- Telling the writer something they like. A- Asking the writer a question about their story. G- Give the writer a suggestion about something they could improve. Tomorrow, we will be writing our final copies of our stories on our blogs. Speaking of blogs, everyone was very impressed by Justin Park's magic show video! It reminded us that the blogs were not just for our Reading homework. We can also post journal entries about things we like, videos of our pets, or even things we did on the weekend. Make sure to check out Justin's video in the blog. Parents your password is: CBIS. HOMEWORK ELA: Reading Blog (choice) Writing: Fix/Edit Fantasy Story ...you make my life better :)
