Eight months ago, I never thought I could care or love you students as much as I do now. Words cannot even begin to express how lucky I feel to be teaching the most loving, caring, kind, bright, generous, friendly, beautiful children I have ever met. There are moments where I doubt myself, am stressed beyond belief and question my worth as a teacher. The reminder that you love me and I love you is enough to refocus me and keep me going.
Tomorrow, I will be flying home to see my family in Canada. If I didn't have YOU to fly back to, I don't know if I would ever return. I am so blessed even in the hardest times. I am going to miss every single student with all of my heart but I will be happy to be with my family again. Today was a busy day but a day that made me really proud. The class wrote "Thank You" notes to CBIS staff who don't usually get much recognition. The staff loved the letters and the students enjoyed writing them; some even wrote TWO! Make sure to be on your best behaviour for Ms. P in my absence! I will try to stay in touch with a blog post or two. See you all in 13 days! Love, Ms. Wright HOMEWORK ELA: Reading Log (agenda) Literature Job (March 30th) Dear students and parents of Room 403,
As you may or may not have known, my maternal grandmother (Omi) was diagnosed with terminal ovarian cancer in September of last year. At that time, she was given 1 to 2 years to live. In January, it was revealed that her cancer was in remission and our family was overjoyed. However, this past Saturday my grandmother had to undergo surgery because she was always feeling dehydrated. During this surgery, the doctors discovered the cancer had spread to her bowels and has caused complications that cannot be fixed. It is now apparent to my family that she will not be with us as long as we thought. For this reason, I have decided to make the journey home to British Columbia to be with my grandmother one last time. I will be leaving this Friday, March 27th and will back in school on April 9th. It pains me to leave my students for so long but I know that I have to be with my family at this important time. Ms. P, our lovely librarian and all around great teacher will be filling in for me during that time. She is a superb substitute and will be well informed of the learning outcomes that need to be met while I am away. Please keep my grandmother and family in your thoughts and prayers. I thank you for your patience and understanding, With love from Ms.Wright For Spring Break, Ms. Wright and Ms. Kopec went to Boracay, Philippines. They had a lot of fun scuba diving, paddle boarding, island hopping and watching the sunset every day. They met many people in their hostel from all over the world.
Today in class we took it pretty easy because everyone was still in holiday mode. We chatted a bit about what we did for our vacation and spent some time playing at the playground for DPA. In Language Arts, we had our third session of our literature circles. We will be finished our books by Monday, March 30th. Ms. Wright was really happy to see everyone again. She missed her students more than you can imagine. Happy first day back :) HOMEWORK ELA: Reading Blog (agenda) Math: pg 263 #1-5 SS: Venn Diagram and Explorer Profile I hope everyone has a lovely spring break filled with relaxing and family. I am feeling a little under the weather so I seem to have forgotten to post on Monday and Tuesday. On Monday, we had our first literature circle meeting which went very well. Unfortunately, some students did not finish their work so they did not receive a good mark. Our next meeting is tomorrow morning. Please make sure your literature circle jobs are done for then! We also had a Math test on Monday for Unit 6 and started Unit 7: Data Analysis yesterday. Today we wrote the good copies of our pen pal letters. We will be sending out our letters today or tomorrow to 150 Mile House, B.C. Our friends will be so happy to receive our letters and some Korean gifts I attached (candy and pencils). Report cards go home today, please make sure parents sign and return these by Thursday or Friday.
