We played the drama game "Honey, do you love me?" today as well as a game where we had to follow the leader and a detective had to guess who it was. We had an assembly to celebrate the achievements of some students in Grade 5 and 7. In the future, we will be celebrating our own achievements.

We had a lot of fun today playing tree relays. As you can see, some of our trees lost their decorations! We had an earthquake drill right after lunch too. Ms. Wright was so impressed with how seriously the class took it that we got to play Just Dance before break time.

Today in class, students learned about important questions in both writing and reading. We also began setting goals for ourselves for this semester.
HOMEWORK MATH- Unit 2: Lesson 12, #1-7ab Unit Test Monday Oct 20th ELA: Reading Logs HACE: My Goals Ms. Wright has added a class calender which can be found here. It gives details on when big events are happening throughout the school year and big tests are coming up.
To celebrate Canadian thanksgiving, we played a couple of turkey themed games in gym. We also drew our own turkeys for art and put them in unusual situations such as outer space! We had so much fun making them, Ms. Wright will post pictures later. Enjoy the weekend. HOMEWORK ELA- Reading Log Students compared and contrasted today in Science when they examined some of the differences and similarities of climate and weather. In Math, we played a subtraction game which involved both luck and skill.
The Friday Math/Socials Quiz will ask students to remember the seven continents and four oceans we learned about in class as well as test their subtraction skills. Good luck and bon voyage to our classmates going on trips this weekend, we will miss you in the classroom (Ms. Wright is jealous of you). May your mind be expanded by the wonders of travel and experiencing new cultures. HOMEWORK MATH- Unit 2: Lesson 10, #1-7 ELA- Reading Log and Read-A-Thon Spelling/Math/Socials Quiz REMINDER Read-A-Thon sheets are due back on Friday to be handed in to the library. We read some more of "The One and Only Ivan" today and found out some sad news about our friend Stella. We also practiced the Caribou Math Contest on the computer and played some games related to mental subtraction.
HOMEWORK MATH: Unit 2- Lesson 9, # 1-5 SS: World Map Puzzle ELA: Reading Logs We began making our own world maps today in Social Studies. We will finish them tomorrow and cut them out to make puzzles. We also switched classroom jobs for the next two weeks. Cubby police were getting creative and handing out post it note tickets!
