Today was a busy day as we had many things on the go. The inspectors from the British Columbia Education minister were here but things went smoothly. In the morning, we worked on a word problem strategy by finding the pattern. This strategy will be very useful for us, especially with assessments such as FSA's next year.
After break, we learned about high and low pressure in Science. We watched a video to extend our learning and drew about high and low pressure in our notebooks.
In the afternoon, we performed our readers theatre play for our reading buddies in Grade 1A. We were all nervous but did a really exceptional job of remembering our parts and what to do. The Grade 1's were very impressed!
We began a new project in Social Studies about place names in British Columbia. First, Ms. Wright showed the students how to use Google to search for the meanings of place names for future reference. We then talked about choosing place names for our bumper sticker projects.
